Cayenne crossover had a rough start. About 15 years ago predecessors of the 2019 Porsche Cayenne should be SUV-version of the iconic 911 roadster. However, it didn’t go well. Too stiff, the sporty suspension is not what a driver of crossover needs. Also, the styling borrowed from 911 looked more like a caricature than as aggressive as it should be.
However, thanks to name, reputation, and good marketing Porsche had good results on the market. The second generation brought a lot of improvements and established an SUV as one of the top models. Now, 2019 Cayenne is about to present something new. Improvements of suspension, drivetrain, aerodynamic, will bring much better driving impression. With it, Porsche will get a true successor of 911 in SUV segment.
2019 Porsche Cayenne Turbo, GTS, S
The new 2019 Porsche Cayenne could be an interesting model, but all their fans can’t wait to see a Turbo version. More power, more equipment, and luxurious interior are making this model a dream vehicle. As always, unique details will make it too expensive for most enthusiasts.
Nevertheless, there are other performance-boosted variants. New Cayenne will come in GTS variant, a lighter version than Turbo. This trim was a part of the last edition, and it will be again a mid-range crossover in the entire Cayenne lineup. Entry-level units are coming followed with S models.
The 2019 Porsche Cayenne will continue to use a hybrid drivetrain. In 2014 this crossover became the first ever luxurious SUV to get a plug-in drivetrain. Then, it could go between 18 and 36 mpg by using only electric batteries. Combined with a conventional drivetrain, Porsche Cayenne had 47 mpg-e rating.
