The 2019 Ford Escape is going to be able to offer 180 horses from its 1.5-l engine. This 4-cylinder unit is using direct injection and a 6-speed automatic gearbox. Additionally, it can make 180 lb-ft of torque. Versions with front-wheel drive system can make 30 mpg on the highway. The all-wheel-drive consumes more fuel, and it’s coming with 2 mpg lower rating.
Hybrid and Titanium
Top of the class model is Titanium, with the 2.0-l turbocharged four-cylinder engine. This unit is good for 250 hp and 280 lb-ft of torque. However, there is a final option in Escape Hybrid. By combining 2.5-l 4-cylinder engine and electric batteries, the plug-in crossover can deliver 180 hp and 140 lb-ft of torque. While its power is worse than conventional models are offering, fuel economy is much better. Experts estimate new Ford Escape will go 33 mpg combined.
