The 2018 Range Rover Evoque, the company’s prime contender in the compact luxury crossover segment, is also getting spruced up as a result. Since its debut in 2011, the vehicle has sold well and also received praise from critics. The 2018 model’s prototype version has been spotted testing in recent times and spy shots have also appeared on the web.
2018 Range Rover Evoque – Body Styles Changes and other Options:
From the spy shots, one thing is clear- the body is wider now. As per the updates, JLR will launch the 2018 Range Rover Evoque in 5 trims and 3 body styles. The body styles are- Coupe, Convertible and 5 doors. The trims are SE, HSE, SE premium, HSE Dynamic, and Autobiography. The new car will be based on the much-touted MKII platform. The cars will get varying sized alloy wheels as per trim. HSE and later trims get Xenon Automatic Headlights and Panoramic Glass Roof.
The cabin will be lavishly set up and amenities will be aplenty. The car will get Grained Leather Seats in all trims with better upholstery available in higher trims. HSE upwards trims get heated seats too. Top trims may also get interior mood lighting. Of course, the cabin would be adorned with soft touch surfaces everywhere. The cargo space is expected to go up in 2018 model.
2018 Range Rover Evoque – Drivetrain Configuration:
The Range Rover Evoque 2018 will be powered by the company’s new Ingenium range of petrol and diesel 2.0-liter engines. So, they will be fuel efficient. However, rumor mills indicate JLR may actually introduce a hybrid powertrain. The engines are likely to be clubbed with a 9-speed automatic transmission gearbox. The Terrain Response system will be there with dedicated modes like Mud, Sand, and Snow etc.
Like its predecessor, the Range Rover Evoque is going to be loaded with new safety features. The trims will get a lot of airbags, Hill Descent Control and All-Terrain Progress Control. Safety features in top trims include Surround Camera System, Blind Spot Monitor, Lane Keep Assist and adaptive cruise control. The entertainment features include InControl Touch Pro infotainment setup and a Meridian Digital Surround Sound System.

Expected entry level pricing for 2018 Range Rover Evoque is $43,000. It will hit showrooms in late 2017.
The new Range Rover Evoque seems like a nice upgrade that will hep JLR cope with rising competition in luxury compact crossover segment. However, the company needs to strike a balance between price and performance.
