After its first appearance at the Paris Car Show, the new Peugeot 3008 SUV caused a lot of attention. Its first production model met demands. Already over the first few days, more than 1,000 vehicles were ordered. Now, it is ready for a new adventure with 2018 Peugeot 3008.
Peugeot seems to left van battle to Citroen. Instead, the Lion-badge company turns to the more popular segment. This is not an easy challenge. In Europe, almost 2 out of 10 vehicles sold today are SUVs. That means competition is more numerous than ever.
2018 Peugeot 3008 Redesign and New Edition of Crossover
The French company made the transformation from a minivan to SUV in a big way. They retained all the qualities of the predecessors and added new spices. Now, on 2018 Peugeot 3008, we will see the second generation i-cockpit steering wheel of 35 centimeters. Ground clearance is 22 cm, which is enough for off-road adventures.
Dimensions and Interior
The length of 445 centimeters (300 inches) of the Peugeot 3008 is embedded in the heart of the SUV segment. The minivan predecessor is 8 centimeters longer. Rivals Volkswagen Tiguan and Kia Sportage lag behind only a few centimeters. But in the case of the wheelbase, French SUV is the recorder. This could be a decisive factor for a spacious interior and an enviable level of comfort on the rear seats.
2018 Peugeot 3008 Highlights
Although tastes are different, the 2018 Peugeot 3008 receives only the words of praise. This vehicle is superb in every aspect, no matter what angle we are looking at. The vertical mask is now more aggressive. Looked from the side, the crossover looks compact. The owners of the former 3008 vehicles will be proud of the cockpit. The massive central console is carried over to the new SUV. Slightly rotated to the driver, the dashboard has multiple levels, knobs, and command buttons. Aluminum top switches are immediately visible, while below them are much more discrete plastic.
2018 Peugeot 3008 Drivetrain and Specs
Despite the size of 2018 Peugeot 3008, the SUV is easy to handle even in city streets. The twin-turbo turbocharged engine with 150 hp and 370 Nm is the right one for a crossover. Up to 1500 rpm provide enough torque for a smooth start. Also, the accelerations work very convincingly. Despite the small profiled steering wheel and the high center tunnel with a well-positioned shift lever, the 3008 has no sports ambitions. A diesel engine with 150 hp consumes 5.9 liters 100 km combined. For those who want more power, there is a 2.0-l unit with 180 hp. A 1.6-l mill with 120 hp offers half a liter less fuel consumption. Gasoline engines will arrive probably in 2019.
2018 Peugeot 3008 Price
The least potent 2018 Peugeot 3008 is going to be the most affordable. With a price tag of 22,500 euro, we can’t say that crossover is cheap. More power raise the price. With an engine that delivers 150 hp, Peugeot 3008 costs 30,000 euro. Finally, the most expensive and the most powerful model is coming with a price tag of 40,000 euro.
