2018 Mercedes-Maybach G650 The Most Expensive Production SUV

Mercedes is launching the most unusual model ever wearing a Maybach badge. Whether it’s a former name or a new Mercedes-Benz super-luxury sub-brand that exists for several years, the name Maybach has always been linked to luxury sedans. This time, in one vehicle we can find sedan’s luxury and the G-class off-road capabilities. And not any G class, but its extreme off-road versions with heightened ground clearance and massive wheels. The vehicle is 2018 Mercedes-Maybach G650.

Mercedes previously had monstrous variants of its legendary all-terrain vehicle. For example, we could see G63 6×6 or G500 4×4. Now, everything is spiced up with all luxury features that justifies the Maybach logo on the back of the vehicle.

The company created only 99 units of 2018 Mercedes-Maybach G650. This crossover, also known as Landaulet, didn’t take too much time to sell all copies. According to available info, car collectors went crazy over this model. So, first units achieved an average price of around 650,000 euro, or nearly $800,000. The last model was sold in auction for 1.2 million euro, which is equivalent to 1.4 million dollars. However, the funds are going to Laureus Sport for Good Foundation, so we can say that Mercedes-Maybach G650 did a nice gesture to the world.

Before the S650 Landaulet, the most expensive production crossover was a G500 4X4 Squared. Its record of $500,000 is now history after the success of the new model.
