Since its inception, the Renegade has remained virtually unchanged. The key dimensions for 2018 will have fewer changes. It is likely to maintain its boxy look, which some love and some hate. Except for minor changes to the nose and tail and some interior updates, the overall body will remain unaffected.

The 2018 Jeep Renegade is expected to have two engine options. The basic variant will include a 1.4-liter inline four-cylinder engine, capable of outputting pretty average 160 hp at 5500 rpm, with a maximum torque output of 184 pounds-feet at 2500 rpm. The engine’s cam will be single overhead cam type and will be petrol based. This engine will come with a six-speed manual transmission and a fuel capacity of 12.7 gallons.
The second engine option is a 2.4-liter inline 4-cylinder petrol based engine, capable of outputting 180 hp at 6400 rpm, with a peak output of 175 pounds-feet of torque at 3900 rpm. Its engine is a single overhead cam type as well, paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission system which is able to maintain the fuel consumption leveled with the weaker engine.
The new model will have the same boxy design with a seven-slot front grille. With a soft touch finish, sport heated seats, leather upholstery, dual-zone climate control, power sunroof and touchscreen dashboard, it is sure to take your breath away. Along with these several safety features like electronic stability control, ABS. side impact beams, low tire pressure warning, curtain first and second-row airbags and rear child safety locks are also included. It will have 5 different drive modes vis-à-vis auto, snow, mud, sand, and rock.
The core lineup of the base Sport model, better-equipped Latitude, luxury-tinged Limited, and off-road-oriented Trailhawk are not likely to change. Though, it is believed that they will add special editions along the lines of the Deserthawk and Altitude versions.
2018 Jeep Renegade – Price and Release Date
It is expected that the new 2018 Jeep Renegade will start its production in November 2017 and its sale is likely to start in December. As far as pricing is concerned, since it is a carryover model, its price range will be anywhere between the range of $19,000 to $23,000.
The 2018 Jeep Renegade is one of the cheapest off-road vehicles available in the market. It is a complete subcompact crossover. But it’s too boxy and its MPG numbers are not too good. It has a good engine and sticks to the ground wherever you go.
