2018 Cadillac XT7 Redesign, Three-row SUV, Spy Photos

The 2018 Cadillac XT7 model has series of upgrades and modifications, which will make this model more desirable than the previous one. It is more of a car than a regular SUV. Cadillac XT7 is thought to have a decent off the road capability, and the best thing about it is that it is highly affordable. There are many other three-row SUV you can easily find, but most of them are way out of your budget. Once you see the new model, you are likely to forget the old one.

2018 Cadillac XT7 – Redesign:

Moreover, the 2018 model will compete with the Acura MDX and Volvo XC90, both of which are large, seven-seat luxury utility vehicles. While the model was being tested, spy photographers caught some pictures that have successfully made people believe that XT7 will serve as a complement to the two-row XT5 model.

A general misconception created by the spy photographers is that 2018 Cadillac XT7 could be the 2017 Chevrolet Traverse. This is because new features like fog lights and rear tail lights are not commonly found in typical Cadillac parts. However, this is not likely to be true. Since it is a prototype, Cadillac might just be looking at various options. Whatever people say, the misconception will be only cleared once the car comes out. Which would somewhere around the end of this year.

2018 Cadillac XT7 – Modification Under the Hood:

The prototype that was being tested alongside the new Chevrolet Traverse and Buick Enclave has front and rear ends just like the CT6 sedan and other recent Cadillac models. It would have a turbocharged variant that will lead to better performance. This is so because the turbines help increase internal combustion engines efficiency and power output. As the compressor can force more air and fuel than before. Therefore, as opposed to the mechanically driven supercharger which is losing its influence day by day, turbochargers tend to be more efficient.  However, the power will come from the same 3.6-liter V6 embedded in XT5. The automakers are also planning to add a plug-in hybrid variant. But they are not sure if it would be of any advantage to the seven- seater XT7.

2018 Cadillac XT7 – Design and Technology:

In addition to fuel management, the 2018 Cadillac XT7 has a quick steering response that would provide a smoothly composed ride and easy handling. Thus less likely to tumble around. Also, the cabin is spacious, with extra comfortable seats and the rear ones can even be folded to make room for more storage space. It is also believed to have a metal divider and locks, both better than the ones present in XT5.

The center screen would have Cadillac’s CUE infotainment system, providing easy access to climatic changes, connectivity, and navigation.  Also, the use of hard buttons would make the control of seat heating and cool better and more efficient. In fact, this is a feature that makes Cadillac different from other automakers.

Moreover, it might have a Rear Camera Mirror from Cadillac CT6, as approved by The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Rear-view mirror would be more like an electronic display. Showing a live feed from cameras placed at the back of the car. Such a system gives a wider and thus a better view of the road behind you. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has approved it on the basis that it meets U.S vehicle safety standards which require cars to have “an inside rearview mirror of unit magnification.”

However, NHTSA chief counsel Paul Hemmersbaugh has clearly stated that though there are no safety concerns regarding the system at the moment. If in the future the car’s design performance or usage compromises safety, it would be subject to recall. Thus Cadillac has the pressure of coming up with the best version.
