The 2018 BMW X6 is not a family-centric SUV and coupe-like design also makes it more ideal for users who need more sportiness than utility. The midsize luxury crossover is athletic in appearance and the technologies inside make driving fun.
2018 BMW X6 – Looks and Shape Upgrade
For 2018, the BMW X6 is getting a revamp but the exterior styling is not going to change much, as it is. It looks somewhat more fluid and sleeker than the near-identical cousin X5. The familiar twin split kidney bean grille is there and headlamps are slimmer.
The cabin is sleek and suave looking. The sloping roofline cuts into back seat headroom and tall people will find it hard sitting there comfortably. There are 2 rows of seats here. The 10.2-inch touchscreen in the dashboard is a joy to use. In cargo space, the 2018 X6 scores rather average- falling behind the Porsche Cayenne. However, quality of cabin material is almost impeccable.
2018 BMW X6 – Speculated Powertrains
It is expected that the 2018 BMW X6 will use the same powertrain used in the 2017 model, with small enhancements. So you may get the 3.0-liter inline-6 turbocharged engine. The engine is mated with an 8-speed automatic transmission unit. Upper trims get a 4.4-liter V-8 engine with more output. Acceleration is really blazing fast and here it races ahead of most category rivals.
The 2018 BMW X6 will have three trims in all probability- sDrive35i, xDrive35i, and the range-topping xDrive50i. All trims get a good set of safety features as well as amenities. There is another X6 M model too.
Standard safety features in 2018 X6 are traction control, automatic brake drying, antilock brakes, airbags, and also parking sensors. BMW Assist emergency communications system is also standard in all trims. It has on-demand roadside assistance, stolen vehicle recovery, and automatic crash notification. Optional safety features are lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, rearview camera, a night-vision system, pedestrian detection.
Both sDrive35i and xDrive35i trims get 19-inch alloy wheels, adaptive xenon headlights, automatic wipers, Led fog lamps, auto-dimming outside mirrors, dual-zone automatic climate control, sunroof, wood trim accents and heated front seats. All models get BMW’s excellent iDrive infotainment setup. It now supports Bluetooth and navigation. The xDrive50i gets four-zone automatic climate control, keyless ignition, Harman Kardon audio setup with surround sound, satellite radio, and enhanced leather seating. The Premium package, available for xDrive35i and sDrive35i trims, adds satellite radio, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and wireless cell phone charging etc. Top trim buyers can opt for a Cold Weather package and an Executive package.

The BMW X6 2018 is going to be unveiled in late 2017. The base trim pricing can be around $63,000 while top trim price can exceed $100,000.
The 2018 BMW X6 is not aimed at family-centric buyers. It gets impressive styling and technology. But design cuts into usability and cargo space is average. You may think of alternatives like Porsche Cayenne and Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class.
