Recently, the prototypes of 2018 Acura RDX have been spotted testing in the US. You may not think of the Acura RDX first when talking about midsize luxury crossover SUVs, given the abundance of formidable contenders in this segment. However, there is no denying the reality Honda’s luxury wing has become better at pricing vehicles that offer better value for money compared to most rivals over the ears. Since its debut in 2006, the RDX has got a number of revamps. The company is giving it another sprucing up for 2018.
2018 Acura RDX – Design News:
From the spy shots, it is evident that upcoming version of Acura RDX will have a larger dimension than the existing model. There are changes in headlamps, grille, and bumper, even if the changes are not drastic. There are high-mounted taillights and dual exhausts at the rear bumper. Not much is known about what changes will be made in its cabin, but the 2018 RDX will come with enhanced upholstery and trim materials inside. The seating and cargo space will also be enhanced. It does not come with trims- but you get the option to choose various packages like advance, Technology, and AcuraWatch Plus.
Like any luxury class midsized crossover, 2018 Acura RDX is expected to be packed with enough safety features and amenities. All models get features like rearview camera, cruise control, automatic LED headlights, privacy glass, sunroof, keyless ignition, automatic climate control, leatherette upholstery, auto-dimming mirror, leather-wrapped steering wheel. There are a sound system and Bluetooth along with satellite radio.
In AcuraWatch Plus package you get forward collision warning, lane-departure warning, and adaptive cruise control. The Technology package brings a blind-spot monitor, a navigation system, HD radio and GPS-linked climate control. In Advance package, you get rear parking sensors, ventilated front seats and automatic wipers.
2018 Acura RDX – Drivetrain Configuration:
While the 2017 RDX shipped with a 3.5-liter V6 unit industry buzz is the 2018 model may be clubbed with a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine, also used in Honda Accord. The engine may be mated with a dual-clutch eight-speed gearbox. Later a hybrid version may also be launched though the company is tight-lipped about it.
2018 Acura RDX – Price and Release Date:
The 2018 Acura RDX price may start at $36,500. It will be unveiled in late 2017.
New Acura RDX 2018 is a nice upgrade over the predecessor and styling changes will help it sail through. However, some details are not yet clear. It needs a balanced price tag to hit the bull’s eye.
