Acura, the premium brand from Honda is famous for its constant improvement. Models produced by this branch have been constantly upgraded and improved and the MDX crossover is not an exception. After last year’s facelift, with new Jewel Eye LED headlights and restyled diamond grille it was time to improve technology features too. The dual-screen interface has been totally changed. 2018 Acura MDX Technology Package – Engine Specs
The engine under the hood of the 2018 Acura MDX will still be Premium Unleaded 3.6-liter V6. It will be paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission. This combination will deliver 290 horsepower @ 6200 and 267 lb-ft of torque @ 4700. Front wheel drive will be standard and the fuel consumption with this drive will be 20/27 mpg city/highway if the auto engine start/stop feature is used. The AWD will come as an option and the fuel consumption will then be 19/26 mpg.
New 2018 MDX will also offer a hybrid powertrain. That will be a combination of 3.0-liter V6 and Twin Motor Unit with two electric motors. 2018 Acura MDX Technology Package – Design and tech features
This year’s model will inherit the same look as before. It will come with the new diamond pentagon grille. The LED day headlights with Jewel Eye design will be standard with all trims. Also, the new bumper and LED fog lights will be borrowed from 2017 year model. Two new exterior colors will come as an option. We are talking about San Marino Red and Basic Red. New 20-inch aluminum wheels will also come as an option.
Interior look will stay exactly the same as it is. The biggest changes inside are related to the new technology features. The 7-inch touchscreen is now improved and significantly faster. Also, the lower 8.0-inch lower display screen is inherited from the previous model. The infotainment system is upgraded and now it is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Premium Audio System has 12-speakers and is compatible with MP3 and WMA formats.
The new 2018 MDX is the third most expensive model from Acura. Only the price tags of the NSX supercar and RLX sedan are bigger. This luxury crossover with Technology Package trim will be available at almost $ 51,595 and will be affordable only for people with a deeper pocket.
