The 2017 Nissan Rogue Hybrid has come into production as a deal that Nissan struck with Lucas Films and the Star Wars Franchise to produce a model for the upcoming Star Wars: Rogue One. If this was not enough to entice you, then I am sure the new enhancements and specs that the Rogue hybrid has to offer will surely get the job done.
Nissan has had a fantastic year regarding sales and the popularity of their newly redesigned and revamped crossover vehicles. One of the models that were part of the mid-cycle lineup announced by the company was the Nissan Rogue, which is also available as a hybrid – a first for this compact crossover.
2017 Nissan Rogue Hybrid – Engine Specs:
Nissan has used a 2.0-liter engine with four cylinders in combination with a 30-kilowatt electric motor. The engine alone is capable of providing a horsepower of 141 and a torque of 144-pound foot. However, the addition of the electric motor makes the combined total output of the system be 176 hp, which is more than that provided by a 2.5-liter gas-only engine. This sounds excellent on paper; however, the real test is how well it performs practically.
The expected fuel economy for the Rogue hybrid is to be more than the Rogue or other counterparts. If you are driving in the city then the figure is somewhere close to 33 miles per gallon, and 35 miles per gallon if you are driving on the highway.
2017 Nissan Rogue Hybrid – Interior and Features:
Remember when we said that Nissan was making a model for Rogue One? Well, keeping with the science fiction nature of the franchise, the company decided to install radar-based blind spot warning systems and rear cross traffic alerts. In addition to this, there is also the option of a Bose audio system in SL models, along with cruise control, automated emergency brakes and a forward collision warning system. The floor in the hybrid is also higher than the Rogue, so it can easily accommodate the lithium-ion battery. As the battery is placed beneath the cargo loading area, the third row of seats is not available in the Hybrid.
The exterior of the Hybrid is almost similar to the original Rogue model.
2017 Nissan Rogue Hybrid – Price and Release Date:
Nissan has said that the 2017 Nissan Rogue Hybrid will be available in the market sometime in December 2017. However, despite the fact that it has announced a release date, the official price of the hybrid remains disputed. The hybrid will be available in two variations. The first one is a mid-grade SV, while the second one is an SL. The SL is expected to a cost a hefty $35,000, while the SV has no price tag attached as yet.
All in all, the 2017 Nissan Rogue Hybrid is a perfect choice who wants to reduce his/her carbon footprint and drive a greener vehicle. Even if you do not care about the environment, which you should, be sure to check out this beautiful crossover to get to a galaxy far, far away.
