The 2017 Ford Flex comes with some changes, but it will excite the customers with its unique and boxy style.

Ford is one of the most top-selling brands in America, with a variety of cars and pickup trucks, with varied specifications. Ford Flex is a crossover between and a minivan and an SUV. The first Ford Flex was launched in 2008 as a successor of Ford Freestyle crossover. The last time it was upgraded was in 2014. There is a rumor that it is launching another model in 2017, with a lot of updates and modifications.

2017 Ford Flex – Redesign Looks and Shape:

All the previous models of Ford Flex also had a boxy style, but this time it will be bigger and better. Some changes have been to the exterior of the vehicle. It has five doors, and there has been an addition of a few colors. They will be Oxford White, Magnetic Metallic, Ingot Silver Metallic, Blue Metallic and Silver Black. The variety of colors can cater different tastes of different customers. Also, selection of new and different materials for the body and structure of the 2017 Ford Flex are as such that they will make it very light-weighted yet strong.

The 2017 Ford Flex is available in three trims, namely SE, SEL and Limited. Halogen headlamps are present in the SE trim, which has a feature of the auto lamp. It also has a pair of windshield wipers, which are sensitive to the speed. The doors are equipped with power locks. On the other hand, in addition to the features, SE offers, beltline molding of the SEL trim is made of stainless steel. The side rails of the roof are in silver, the roof itself is colored in black, and handles are of the same color as that of the car body. The largest number of upgrades is present in the Limited version. The doors have an auto lock feature along with the power locks. Handles are made out of chrome; there is a sensing system used for reversing purposes.

The front grille has been modified; it is in all chrome now and is surrounded by LED lights. The size and the shape of the grille are different. The larger grille has Flex written on it instead of a standard Ford badge in shape of a blue oval.

2017 Ford Flex- Inner Cosmetic Changes:

The cabin of 2017 Ford Flex is more spacious compared to the previous model. It has a three-row configuration with seven seats available for the passengers. However, the car can hold up to ten passengers. The entire cabin will be made out of high-quality fabrics, while the passenger seats will be covered in leather, with foam present underneath the leather to make the ride comfortable.

A 4.2-inch touchscreen has been added for information and entertainment purposes. Other added features include the new twelve speakers Sony audio system, Bluetooth connectivity, a feature of the navigation system, a rearview camera for reversing purposes, etc. Some safety features have also been added including but not limited to six airbags, parking sensors, a warning to prevent the car from colliding forward and an anti-lock braking system. The steering wheel and the dashboard of the vehicle have also been redesigned.

2017 Ford Flex – Power Expectations:

It is rumored that two options will be present for the powertrain/engine of the 2017 Ford Flex. The upgraded engines will significantly boost the power performance and make the car very fuel-efficient, a feature desired by most of the customers. The first option will be the 3.5-liter V6 engine, and it will be able to generate 287 hp and 254 pound-feet of torque. It is expected that this engine will deliver around 16 mpg in the city and around 13 mpg when driving on the highway. The second option will be 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine, and it will be able to generate 365 hp and 350 pound-feet of torque. This one is expected to deliver around 15 mpg in the city and around 21 mpg when driving on the highway.

2017 Ford Flex – Expected MSRP and Release Date:

The price of the SE trim is expected to be around $30,500, the price of the SEL trim is expected to be around $33,200, and the Limited trim will cost around $44,000. It is a very unique-looking car and if it is what you need or desire, just hope that this rumor turns true!
