Due to a leak, BMW released the 2017 BMW X4 M40i at this year’s Los Angeles Motor Show. For anyone who has closely followed the manufacturing trends that BMW has recently adopted, can easily tell that the M40i is clearly a junior version of the famous X6. To understand this luxury coupe with four doors, let us look at this in more detail.

2017 BMW X4 M40i – Exterior and Interior Changes:
The 2017 BMW X4 M40i has a low roof and a hyper-stylized body. The outer body of the vehicle, which includes the side mirrors, lower air intakes, and grille slats, is painted with a beautiful Ferric Gray Metallic color. The standard model of the X4 M40i comes equipped with 19-icnh alloy wheels; however, some models are also available with the optional 20-inch alloy wheels. The rear of the car sports a diffuser, which is punctuated by four black colored exhaust pipes.
The inner cabin of the luxury crossover can be a tad disappointing for even the most diehard of fans. The doorsills are wide and have the words “M40i” etched into them. In addition to this, the seating position has a low drop.
Furthermore, it should be duly noted that BMW has certainly compromised space for style. The rear legroom may be more, but foot room is very restricted. The cargo carrying capacity of the crossover has also considerably decreased to 18 cubic feet, which is almost 10 cubic feet less than that of the X3.
2017 BMW X4 M40i – Engine Specs:
The engine used in the M40i comes packed with a turbocharged and intercooler DOHC 24-valve inline six engine, which has aluminum blockheads and direct fuel injection. The engine is capable of providing a power of 355 hp at 5800 rpm, and a torque of 343-pound feet at 1350 rpm. The transmission is a standard 8 speed automatic with manual shifting mode. The fuel economy figures for the M40i are as follows. If you are driving in the city then the average is 19 miles per gallon, and 26 miles per gallon if you are on the highway. Moreover, the vehicle can accelerate to a speed of 60 miles per hour from zero in a mere time span of 4.4 seconds.
2017 BMW X4 M40i – Price and Release Date:
The base price is $59,095. The price with added features like the parking sensors, Harman/Kardon premium audio system with 16 speakers, and adaptive cruise control is $67,495. However, as far as the release date is concerned, the company has not unveiled any official date. Most pundits and insiders speculate that the mid-sized luxury SUV will be available to purchase sometime in early 2017.
